Pile Caps - Structural Design Overview

 


Dear ASDIP Customer:

ASDIP FOUNDATION 4 was released recently. It includes the design of pile caps based on ACI 318 and CRSI Design Guide.

The design of pile caps may be time-consuming, since it implies the check of multiple limit states for shear and bending, in addition to the pile axial and lateral capacity.
I have prepared a new blog post with a short video, with a brief overview of the engineering background of the design of pile caps, the code provisions and discussion of the applicable limit states. You are invited to read this blog post and watch the video.
